Job Title: Advancement Research Analyst

Description
The Indianapolis Zoo is a national leader of animal conservation and one of the top tourist destinations in Indiana. In addition to our animal exhibits, gardens, and aquarium, we support local and international animal conservation efforts. The Zoo is a private, 501(c)3 operation. The absence of governmental funding demands that we have a vital, inspired fundraising team to ensure that we can accomplish our conservation mission, and continue to enrich the Zoo’s presence in Indianapolis in years to come.

We have an opportunity for an Advancement Research Analyst, a position that demands a strong working knowledge of internet research methods, on-line prospect research tools, reference libraries, and related sources. An analytical, data driven researcher describes the ideal candidate for our opportunity. The Advancement Research Analyst performs background research on prospective and actual donors, assists in the identification of new prospective donors, supports an established moves management program, and produces/updates appropriate reports.

Requirements

  • A minimum two (2) years experience in prospect research.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fundraising, Communications, Marketing or Public Relations, or a related field, from an accredited institution.
  • A completed on-line application, including an attached cover letter and resume.
  • The names and contact information of three (3) professional references. Preferably references are current or former supervisors, or someone who can speak knowledgeably about your work, abilities, and skills. Please do not list relatives and friends.
  • Good working knowledge of fundraising software and databases, preferably Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, organizational, and writing skills.
  • Successfully passing pre-employment testing, including drug test, driving record check and criminal history check is a condition of employment.
